Edinburgh

And it's on to Edinburgh, my home away from home. A fast and furious 5 days of Fringe shows and catch-up with friends. This is the first time I've rocked up in Edinburgh in August with no plans other than a place to stay and it all worked out brilliantly. Stockbridge in the early morning fog. Bacon rolls at the Trav (yes, Jo, I'm just here for the bacon rolls). The loveliest reunion coffee with Dani and Mim and feeling like it's been years or it's been an hour since I've seen them. Rainy walks across the meadows. Tapas at my beloved Mother India. Pints with Lucy and Barry and Jo and Colin and Jane at Jinglin' Geordie feels like old times. A birthday whisky in The Advocate. Long catch-up chats with Adam and Claire and Rachel and Jess at the Storytelling Centre. My obligatory walk along the Water of Leith. The perfect pelting rain escape at Tail End for fish and chips. Finishing the whole affair off with Kitson's new show and a tram ride to the airport. I promise you, Edinburgh and Edinburgh friends, I will not let it go so long without a visit again!
